Progress -- It is looking more like a pool.

After delays due to weather and delays due to additional inspections due to the weather we finally have made some progress...it is looking more like a pool. We need to pick out coping, tile, and ledger stone. We will keep you posted.

Rain Delays!

Things were moving along on December 3rd plumbing was in. Then came the rain!! When the inspector came he would not pass it because it was still too wet from all the rain. Hopefully it will be reinspected this week and than they will gunite, hopefully before Christmas! We are expecting good weather at least until then yeah!

Steel is in!

Believe it or not this steel framing only took 1/2 a day! They will be back tomorrow to do plumbing.

The hole is done.

They finished digging the hole on Sunday. Truckloads of dirt were removed...there is no going back now. It is a little hard to tell in the picture but it will be 6 to 6-1/2 feet in the deep end about 3-1/2 feet in the shallow end.

We are on a two day hiatus due to resurfacing of our street. I think progress will resume tomorrow.

Day 2: Big Dig

By the end of day 2 this is what we have. It rained a little yesterday but it didn't seem to slow them down.

Day 1 - Sod and concrete removal.

We were impressed with how quickly they removed all the sod, the concrete and began framing the pool. They were supposed to be here around 7:30am (the day after Thanksgiving) we figured they would be late, but instead they were early!

Phase 1: Backyard Renovations

We have been in our house nearly 10 years, we also decided that we are not going anywhere. So we have decided to renovate our backyard, to include a pool and outdoor living area. We have already spent a fair amount of time developing a plan, and fortunatley for us we have a good friend who laid it out on paper. Step 1: we hired a pool company construction begins November 27th. Step 2: we are taking bids from contractors.

We have let our yard go a little bit...knowing we are going to tear it up why water the grass. This does make the yard look more pathetic than it really was.
